The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) quarantine in New Jersey was expanded on August 2nd from 3 to 8 counties. The original 3 were Warren, Hunterdon, and Mercer. The expanded quarantine zone now also encompasses Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, and Somerset Counties. As Sussex County gardeners, we should be on the lookout for the SLF in our gardens and on our property.
For more information on what this quarantine entails, please refer to the Rutgers NJAES website, Spotted Lanternfly, and the NJDA website, Spotted Lanternfly. Flyers and handouts in both English and Spanish along with homeowner and landscaper treatment recommendations and other outreach and informational resources are also provided there.
