Coursen House

Corsen CornersThe Coursen House is located in Lodestar Park, Fredon Township, New Jersey.

Project Coordinators:
2000 - 2010 Genny Wask and Ginny Richardson
2010 - to present Mary Ellen Kline and Linda Zwart

Project Description:
Several years ago the Coursen House Project received a $2,500 Historical Site Grant from the National Garden Club to help restore the gardens at the John Coursen Farmhouse built in 1805. The Farmstead is located at the crossroads and center of Fredon, originally called "Coursen's Corner" and renamed Fredon township in 1834.  It was spearheaded by the club President, Ginny Wask, who was also a member of Coursen's Keepers.

Since 2011 the Club embarked on several projects to develop, enhance and maintain gardens areas of the Coursen House.  Club members maintain the beds and weed and mulch in the spring and fall.
